so. i made it home from my eastern europe excursion. it was a jolly good time. serioulsy, it was fun. i had a nice time with mom, andy and julia. Romania was interesting...my favorite city there, by far was Brasov - very nice cute city, with alot to do. we went to dracula's caslte (bran castle, it's for sale!) and a sinaia palace and Rasnov fort, which was awesome. after romania we went to Hungary, Budapest was great. It is a very nice city, and you definitely need more than 2 days to enjoy it. but, we did the best we could. we went to the national art gallery inside a castle, went to fisherman's bastion, did a evening boat cruise down the Danube river, went to hero's square, ate at Gundels (in the 1,000 places to see book), relaxed in the Bathes, took a city tour and covered many of the hot spots. it's really really nice place. After that we went to Krakow Poland. it was unfortunate because our plane was canceled, so our 36 hours in krakow got cut to like 27 hours...but it was still nice. I'm glad we went. Aushwitz was interesting as was birkenau and we toured krakow which is a nice city, hwoever not as much to do there as the other cities we went to. i'd say 2 days is enough for that city, but we only got one, ah well. then it was off to Prague - which is a beautiful city as well. it has a river going down the middle similar to Budapest. We went to the castle, and vitus's church, petrin hill, jewish quarter and cemetary and all sort of other good stuff.
it was awesome being in eastern europe because everything is just so old it's unbelievable. it's like way before america was even thought about. crazy. like we were in a church thing (st. george's actually) and it was from the 10th century, wow!! what was america doing during that time?? not building churches that's for sure. and many of the large basilica's and palaces are from like the 14th and 15th centuries which is so cool to think about. i was always amazed at how old everything was. it is sad though because things have gotten really damaged due to wars, especially WWII in budapest really knocked down alot of buildings so they had to re-build, which is sad b/c it's not original. another down side of war.
it was a nice trip. and now it's good to be back. we walkeda lot and were quite busy - as was expected, so now i need a rest. i will be please when i am done working at copps, it's really just nuts there. i guess while i was gone our new manager just walked out and didn't come back, so now we have another new manager - and he's alright, i guess. but more changes now. ugh. at least i don't have to fry every day like i thought i'd have too. only twice a week. i can handle that. whew. alright time for bed. i'm tired. funny how coming it at 6 am is like sleeping in for me lol it is 5 hours later than for frying. so i guess it is sleeping in. hehe. alright i'm outta here.
oh jorge took off work and hung out with me as soon as i got home. which was wonderful. i missed him lots. it was nice seeing him. i can't wait til we're both in the same city. ah one month to go.
