I am meeting with Tony Velarde, the artist who is doing the cover for Cemetery Moon, today. I've drawn a conceptual mock-up of basically what I want the finished result to look like and have compiled bits and pieces from various photographs he can use as reference. I've already told him what I basically need done. He doesn't think it will be too hard. I'm excited to see the end result. Of course I'll be posting it everywhere I can once I get the finished art back, so y'all get to see it too.
I've decided too, if for some reason, he can't give me the specific results I want, then I'm just going to turn him loose and have him simply create something for me. Even my conceptual drawing has undergone a lot of changes because what I originally wanted just wouldn't have looked good as a thumbnail which is how the cover art will appear most of the time. But, Tony is very talented and I love his art, and turning him loose is actually more tempting to me than handing him specifics. We'll see. I may do that however with the other two books if he's willing to add their covers to his portfolio. Hopefully I'll get a link to it soon. He has a website, but it's been under construction for some time as he's still putting it together.
