Johnny was a good boy who always kept a smile
On his face, which you could see for very many miles.
He was very odd as a child they would say
For all day long outside he would stay.
Non one knew why or where he would go
Until one day they followed him just so they would know.
It took about an hour but finally they stopped
In a patch of grass he sat down with a flop.
They watched with eagerness in their eyes
Just like a group of intruding spies.
He started with his hands and then with a spoon
To dig at the grass until up came the moon.
His parents were curious as to why
So they decided to be mad and then to lie.
They told him he wasn’t allowed outside
He was grounded for not being home on time.
With a grin on their face they said unless
You tell us where you go so we won’t stress.
With an unsure look he asked them if they were sure
That this is what they wanted that it was a cure.
To ease the “stress” in their life
(For he never caused them any strife.)
They nodded and said with a smirk
“Tell us and be sure not to shirk.”
He looked at them oddly but began to tell
Of his odd adventures and why he hid it well.
He told stories of people always being fake
And how he always smiled just for their sake.
He said; “the grass was like a cover
For all the dirty things it was over.
Something so beautiful always holds more
Ugliness then he had ever seen before.
He felt he had to be happy just for them
Because the change can only begin with him.
If you burry the bad people don’t ask
About what is wrong or what happened last.
I burry pictures and thoughts that I think
So no one else sees them.” And then with a wink
He said; “The rest is for me to know
And you to never tell or to anyone show.”
Before they said anything he just walked away
Back outside but this time he would stay.
He said people weren’t worth it
To waste his “grass” to cover their “shit.”
He was tired of having to pretend
So others felt like they might win.
Johnny was a good boy who always kept a smile
But only when he wanted to and it would only last awhile.
His parents never understood him but then again who did?
They were all too close-minded to even comprehend.
That there was more to life then just what they saw
As sacred, and you can only live by their law.
They didn’t realize that everything they believed
Was a scam for them to never see
The true beauty and the pure love
Of everything below and everything above.
Johnny knew better then to believe them
So that’s why he lives there and this is the end.
