More artwork for the QB Matchmaker Challenge!

Wow, two posts in one day! Good thing I don't need my leg to art. Despite the injury I managed to finish before the deadline, yay!
After doing a Speeddate, I chose to do a Blinddate for the quicky_bang Matchmaker Challenge. As a mod I knew all submitted fics would be great to work with, but I was very happy to draw this bittersweet short story giving Sam one ( Read more... )

Love the lines in the final drawing - deceptively simple! The lighting is so clever and effective too.

I see you didn't stretch your paper before painting, got to admit, that faffing around is part of what stops me from using my gouaches.

Ahw, thank you! I was aiming for simple lines (you already know from talking in person what I was frustrated about *grins*) Maybe I'll try stretching the paper next time, if I have the patience;)

Thanks! The backlight really made the moon shine the way I imagined (okay, fine the moon doesn't shine but merely reflects the light of the sun, but whatever, you know what I mean;) I think I like the colours of the original light better, but I am pleased with the slight nighttime effect I managed with the light;)

I love how you always change the hue and lighting on a piece, it actually makes a world of difference to the atmosphere of it.

Well, I do like to fiddle in Photoshop, but with my papercuttings or painted art I do try to keep it as natural looking as possible. This piece just needed a tiny touch of a nighttime feel;) Thank you!
