Yay, today I'm having a pajamaday as a reward for finishing two challenges!
In October 2015(!) I started working on my
spn_reversebang artwork, it was claimed for a collaboration in November and in the past three months I've created additional pieces and turned the original design into a storybanner. I'm happy to finally be allowed to present all my arsty fiddling and yesterday I unlocked
my RB artpost:) I'd love for hear what you think of it: click the teaser to see how those paper tentacles turned out!
Finishing my RB art was not the only thing I accomplished this week.
I had already begun working out more with Gilad at the beginning of January when
somersault_J invited a couple of Twitter and LJ friends to join in the 30 Days ABS Challenge. I'm not a group activities person, but I figured sharing this experience with others online could work as an extra incentive to keep going. Even though I didn't think I'd be able to do the described sets beyond Day 3, I could at least try and make an effort. WOAH DID I SURPRISE MYSELF! I totally managed to keep up and made it to Day 30 on Tuesday \o/ Here's what I did*:
*As the length and repeats of the sets kept increasing, my body did start to protest beyond the muscle ache (which actually wasn't as bad as I had expected;) On my elbows pressure spots appeared from doing the static plank, but I could keep going by using a soft blanket for support on the following days. A bigger problem was the chafing on my butt from the sit-ups that I didn't notice until day 24: the next day it was impossible for me to do the movement because my poor skin was rubbed too raw.
BUT I DIDN'T QUIT! I simply adjusted the rest of the sets to make up for missed sit-ups and I'm proud to report I could include the final set of 125 sit-ups on Day 30, ha! (My butt's not pleased, but it'll heal;)
This week I'm taking a break from adding to my regular fitness plan, but I think I already know what to do for my next work-out challenge.
I also signed up for another fanart project: I'm doing a collaboration and a solo piece for
spn_meanttobe. These are not due until May, so if anyone has any suggestions on what I could participate in until then? (Preferably one with a tighter schedule;)
