US Roadtrip - part 7: Chicago

Sep 30, 2015 17:16

Oh yes, after eight days on the road, tmn1966 and I made it to Chicago, the actual beginning of Route 66:) We decided to park the car in the suburbs and take the train into town, where we were to meet our last fangirl blind date... The lovely cassiopeia7 offered to show us around and I'm pretty sure I saw ALL THE THINGS. We made use of a lot of different kinds of ( Read more... )

Chicago looks like a very pretty and impressive city. Also, thanks again for the extra picture of the rat. <3

It's HUGE. Always funny when Americans think a city is nothing special, when just the sheer size of it is AMAZING to us;)

I love that as fangirls we not only have an adoration for certain guys/shows in common, but we can also share a group of friends. It truely feels like everyone in fandom is a part of the whole meeting up experience. *smishes*

My city, too! It's so cool to see it through the eyes of someone who's never been there before. Glad you had such a great time, and I think you definitely saw all of the important sights! (The Bean is probably my favorite, although I love it all.)

Ha! I'm glad we spread out the meeting of fangirls some what, as the city by itself was already overwhelming and needed attention that kept cassiopeia7 and me from fangirling a bit, but walking around was such FUN! I loved the Bean a lot, if we'd had more time I would have loved to hang around in Millenium Park a little longer. <3 (Maybe next time...;)

Hey, woman!

. . . dude, seriously, we didn't even see half the sights, no lie. Navy Pier, Lincoln Park Zoo, Oak Street beach, the Hancock and Sears Tower observation decks, Buckingham Fountain, Burnham Harbor, Wrigley Field, the underground part of the "El," my personal favorite parts of town up North, Hyde Park (and the flock of wild parakeets that live there), the Museum of Science and Industry, the U. of C. campus, a true Chicago hot-dog, Portillo's Italian Beef, et cetera . . . ;) We missed a LOT, trust me.

Which means that you must return so we can finish the tour. Bring your trainers! :D

I'm sorry for walking you guys all over the place . . . but that's the Chicago way. ;) (If it makes you feel any better, I was exhausted at the end of that day, too. And spent the very next day on my poor feet for five hours at the Air and Water Show's practice performance.)

Yeah, I guess I do have to come back and see the rest and do more fangirling AND TASTE THAT FAMOUS PIZZA :-p

I was glad I didn't have to do much walking the next day:) Bet you enjoyed that Airshow though.

Hey, did you manage to download the photos I sent you?

Oh, yes, you do indeed have to come back. Near my neighborhood up North, there's a "Cas Hardware" store and a men-only spa named "Sir." (I think of JDM every time I pass the place.) ;)

I ALWAYS enjoy airshows! \o/ Plus, the Blue Angels performed, so yay for Navy men. :D (Now if I could only get off my lazy butt and download the images from my camera . . .

. . . you sent photos? *checks inbox again* No, bb, the last email I have from you was regarding the JDM movie. :(( Did you send it to the gmail address?
