My Gishwhes creations! Team 371 \o/

Dec 25, 2011 20:46

Today Misha Collins announced the winning team of the Greatest International Scavenger Hunt the World Has Ever Seen, that I took part in from November 20-30, together with about 6000 other people all over the world. My team (371) didn't win, but I am now allowed to finally show you all the things I made!

We were divided in international teams of ten and had to scavenge, create, photograph or film 219 items, varying from 'Someone completely covered in cotton candy' to 'Fill hundreds of balloons with helium, tie them to a decorated Christmas tree and watch the tree float away'.

:-D

So I didn't manage those, I mostly stuck to the less social but more creative items on the list. Here are (a couple* of) the items I did submit.

Starting with a video for item #201, which I like to call: "Beethoven's Zit"

Description on the Masterlist said An extreme close-up of a chin zit being popped while the owner of the pimple whistles Beethoven’s 5th. (20 points) But I thought that was a little gross, so I improvised a little;)

My photo-submissions
(Click for bigger:)

Item 137 - A street sign that looks authentic and reads “N. GISHWHES AVE.” (23 points)

Item 135 - A sculpture of the actor Jensen Ackles made only from raisins and glue. (25 points)

Item 124 - A painting/drawing of Misha and the Queen of England as Tarzan and Jane posing in a red chair (she’s in his lap). (12 points)

Item 109 - A drawing of the GISHWHES scavenger Hunt reflecting multiple nationalities, locations and items. (30 points)

Item 82 - A snow globe featuring a winter scene in a tropical setting. (20 points)

Item 17 - A chandelier made from kale with at least 3 light bulbs that are turned on. (24 points)

Item 14 - A laptop made entirely of felt. Image must show the screen and keyboard. (21 points)

I also designed two flags, but due to Gishwhes changing timezones and deadlines at the last minute we didn't manage to submit those. I still want to share them, though:

1.
2.

There's also another video-submission, for Item 165: Raise the roof. Then, either cut a rug or cut the mustard. (17 points), you can watch my interpretation of that here.

I enjoyed very much being part of Team 371; thank you, Kate (Canada), Sophia (Cyprus), Elsa (France), Ashley (Canada), Alanna (USA), Paige (USA), Jane (Ireland), Robin (USA) and Colleen (USA). I had a blast going crazy with you all, I wish we could have met up to work on some of the more complicated items. YOU ALL ROCK \m/

Extra special thanks to felisblanco for playing along when I asked her to help with item #45: Paint a librarian’s face with ash from Eyjafjallajokull. She scored me and my team 27 points with her brilliant photo, that I will treasure forever;0)

*I also scored points for A woman wearing underwear on her head that has GISHWHES written on it. but you're not gonna see that;)

Congratulations to the winning team; they will be flown to Rome for dinner with Misha. There is one more chance to win that prize, but this experience has been an award all by itself. Gishwhes forced me away from my computer to be creative without digital assistence again. I haven't been able to do that in a long time. It was awesome and inspirational to stuck my hands in raw materials instead of being artsy with my keyboard and mouse.

Thank you, Misha and Jean-Louis for organizing this event:)

gishwhes, i made this
