I was a little nervous before my massage on Friday. In the past I've had some lower back massages from a physical therapist but I've not had anyone touch me for fun or more intimately than an over the clothes hug for -ehm- over fifteen years, so the prospect of being rubbed by a stranger while half-naked, was a bit intimidating.
Luckily the tone, explanation and well organized manners of my masseuse put me at ease immediately. After a relaxing footbath while answering questions, I was ready to receive my Chinese massage. I laid down on my front, was covered by warm towels and relaxed.
The masseuse started with my feet and legs (bicycle calves ftw!), which was already pretty good, but when she reached my back (and shoulders, unf) I was in heaven.
It was awesome to let go of all thoughts and completely focus on my body.
After I slowly sat back up, she gave me a facial massage and then I got a glass of water and we had a little chat.
Truely a perfect experience, in fact it was one of the best hours of my life and definitely worth another appointment. Too bad my first couple of days off are allready filled with other plans.
*happy, happy sighs*
Afterwards I had an appointment at City Hall to apply for a new passport. I had some time left and had lunch in a "Grand Café" beforehand. Yes, indeed, the massage made me feel like a different person; I never sit down at a place like that, I'm really a bring-your-own-lunch kind of woman;)
Anyway, I know this is probably why I had an issue with how the food was served, but... When I order from the menu and pick 'Italian breadroll with goat's cheese, pine nuts and honey', that is exactly what I want. So please next time, do not hide the bun underneath tons of lettuce, four tomatoes and half a cucumber, mkay?
On Friday evening brotherdearest came over for a visit. We were supposed to continue our everlasting rewatch/marathon of Buffy and Angel after dinner, but as usual we ended up talking deep into the night. So we got up early on Saturday and sat down for a couple of episodes on the big screen. After that I patiently sat behind the computer while he finally finished reading the Halfblood Prince he borrowed from me before he traveled back to Amsterdam. Now I can start reading Harry Potter in preparation for the massive marathon I'm organizing in November. (If you want to come over, I still have a couple of seats in front available - or you may already make reservations for the MEGA marathon in July next year;)
I spent the rest of the weekend catching up on my flist, flailing over Nick/Greg
S10Ep4 spoilers) and
Panic! At The Disco.
Now it is time to sit down and fiddle with my Reverse Bang Artwork. I will reveal my author next week, since the posting schedule will be up on Wednesday. Dumdumdum...
Oh, almost forgot: I also did laundry. Ha! See, not all fun and indulging this weekend;)
