It's that time again: 6 months since/until my birthday. Which is also (approximately) the standard date for my annual livejournal post. So here it is.
A lot has changed since my last post. My life has been an emotional rollercoaster of angst and exhilaration, and the ride has only just begun. Sometimes I think back on the last few months and wonder how everything could have changed so fast. And sometimes I wish things could go back to the way they were. But I don't regret anything, and I wouldn't change it if I could.
Just kidding, of course. Everything is the same. Actually, I don't really remember what was going on last year, but it's probably about the same. That would be funny, though. (If I reflected on my life like that.)
Actually, that's probably the whole purpose of having a journal.. being able to look back on things you did/thought/etc. In order to do that, though, your entries would have to have some sort of meaningful content. In that sense, you could say this journal is totally useless. A prime example of journal-misuse, actually.
I'm in a Software Design and Documentation group meeting at the moment. We're making a book-trading website called
Stephen Van Books III. You'd think I'd be responsible for that ridiculous name, but you'd be wrong. (That link may or may not function for the next few weeks.. but you probably won't be able to access any content, anyway.)
I'm actually working in two website-making-groups this semester; the other is for Interface Design, where we're making a student travel website called
Wanderlust. I actually did the site layout for both (they're lamely similar), but I also made the cool Flash game on that last one.
Oh yeah, I guess I did do some stuff in the last year. Check my hot/fresh/hip new Flash website:
http://www.rpi.edu/~okalyk. I made that earlier this year, and I made most of the videos on it during the fall.
I'm taking this class, Web Science, where we're learning about this guy, Tim Berners Lee. He invented the web, apparently. You'd think everyone would have heard of him.. but I hadn't. (Before the class, anyway.) It's weird how some people are 'household names' for little to no reason, but seemingly important people are mostly unknown.
I think I've typed a few too many short paragraphs for one entry. I'm taking Advanced Video next semester (Fall 2008), so hopefully I have something effin' awesome for my next post. (Or effin' awesomer.)
I've gotta hand it to you regular livejournal posters, you're quite vigilant. Or tenacious. Actually, faithful has more of the connotation I was going for. I'm proud to appear annually on your friends pages. (I'm assuming that if you're reading this, we're 'LJ friends'. But you could have clicked that weird random journal link, I guess. In that case, you're probably pretty tenacious, too. Or vigilant, at least.)
