"We stopped off in a little truck stop on my birthday. So I saw these UGLY ASS sunglasses, right? I mean, these things were UGLY. Alvin came up to me when I was trying them on, and he was like "Man, take that shit off. You're making me look ugly just standing here. Those things are UGLY." Now, they were REALLY ugly. I don't think I can stress that enough, how ugly they were. I put the sunglasses down, and walked back into the bus and got into bed. Right as I was about to fall asleep, Alvin came by and said "Happy birthday man, I got you some sunglasses."."
Hahahahaha.
And here they are:
Heh. Well *I* think they're hot. Poor kid.
The concert was AMAZING. Everything about yesterday was just GOOD. Besides the whole being cold of course.
I got down to Atlanta at about 4:15 and I was going to walk around and do some shopping, but I saw there were already a few people lining up, so I decided to go stand in line too. Now, being the dumb ass I am, I forgot my jacket. So I'm standing out in the FREEZING COLD without a jacket. It was horrible. Thank God for those nice girls that let me put my feet under their blanket and gave me hot chocolate and wendys. Very sweet girls. So, Gavin walks into the building, and about 5 minutes later we are invited into soundcheck. "Hey, I gotta take care of my fans man, it's to cold for ya'll to be out there." How sweet is he? Incredibly. Yes. Soundcheck was good, loved the apple eatingtalkingsinging all at the same time. That was fun. I stayed in there for a little bit, but I wanted to get a good spot in line so I went back outside to wait. 7:00 rolls around and they WILL NOT open the doors. I think they did it on purpose just to spite us, those jerks. The finally let us inside and everyone like, stampeeded (sp?) down to the stage. I got a wonderful spot right in the center.
Surprisingly they actually started on time, sincer they let us in 30 minutes late. First up was Michael Tolcher. I'd heard wonderful things about him, and how he was suposed to be so much better then Gavin. He was definately amazing. Not better then Gvain, but a VERYCLOSE second. Put on a wonderful show, and he had very high energy. Plus, you have to support the hometown Atlanta boys, right? Heh. Next up was Virgina Coalition. They were also very good. I definately found 2 new bands to be a fan of.
Gavin came on, and I swear to GOD I thought my head was going to bust because everyone was screaming so loud. He just smiled, that cute little cheesy smile tha we all love, and thanked everyone for comming. I forget what he opened with, but it was definately an awesome show. He played Let's Get It On, She Holds the Key (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), Dancin Shoes, and ................COP STOP (Check out the new voicemail baby!). AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING. No concert will EVER compare to that. Ever. For serious.
After the show I hung around, met Michael and talked to him for a bit. He invited me to the afterparty that he was having at some club about 1 block away, (eventhough I told him I wasn't 21, he said it wouldn't be a problem and that he was SURE I'd have an awesome time..winkwink- thats what he said haha), I told him I couldn't go because I was already missing curfew by an hour a it was yes, I AM a nerd). So we took a picture, he wrote a little rap on my poster he signed for me ("It was the 7th that we almost got down (underlined almost and wrote it kinda big). All about to bump this shit at my party downtown." heh). After that I went and waited in line to talk to Gavin. Holy shit the line was crazy. After about 30 minutes of waiting, I finally got up to him. I always forget that he introduced himself EVERY TIME you meet him, so I always feel like a jerk when I start talking and asking him to sign stuff while he's introducing himself (I've got to stop that). But he is the sweetest thing, like, ever. I hate it that he looks right into your eyes when he tals to you, and he doesn't look away until you leave. It's crazy, it made me uncomftorable because I'm not used to people doing that, lol. But he signed a picture I had taken of him when he was in town with M5, and said the picture looked like shit, and he wished I jad something else to sign, (aw). We took a picture, (the kid has HORRIBLE picture taking skills. never let him take one, always ask someone else to do it, because he cut half of his face off, I was so mad.) I asked him to call Courtney, becase she had to work and couldn't be there, and he said he would be glad to. But, the idiot didn't anwser her phone. Oh well.
I had the BEST time ever. I really wish I could have gone to the after party because that would have been crazy. Very nice guys, very talented guys. I will definately be back on March 26th at the Roxy. Can't wait.
