a reflection on the oscars

i was super happy with the oscars this year. No global warming rants and the montages were shorter then they usually are. I was only mad about one award: Best Actress. Ellen Page should have won for Juno. I havent seen La Vie en Rose, but I bet Ellen Page was way better. You couldnt tell she was acting, it was that natural/realistic. There were a few others that I would have picked something else, but Im not mad that it won (like There Will Be Blood winning cinematography. I would have picked Atonement, but Blood had super good cinematography, so whatevs.) (to continue ()ing, I would have picked Michael Clayton over Juno for best original screenplay just because MC was super tight and incredibly complex, but Juno's dialogue and humor was amazing, so im not upset by any means at all).

No Country for Old Men was the frontrunner, which I'm super happy about because it was the best movie in almost every aspect. It had 4 wins (Best film, directing, adapted screenplay, and supporting actor). All were deserved hxc.

I find it funny that the second frontrunner was The Bourne Ultimatum with 3 wins. haha

So I have heard alot of peeps saying "OMGZ, why didnt Johnny Depp win best actor?!?! Like, he like sang and was amazing, he shoulda won it for Pirates anywayz. Daniel Day Lewis isnt as good an actor as Johnny Depp pshh Johnny is sooo hot id tap that shit."
SHUTUP. Know of you saw There Will Be Blood or probably even heard of Daniel Day (see Gangs of New York or My Left Foot, more incredible acting by Daniel). His performance was so incredible i dont know where to begin. Let's just say his character in Blood was WAY more emotionally complex and odd then Sweeny Todd. Johnny is a fantastic actor. He was amazing in Sweeny Todd. He deserves an oscar one of these days. Not this time.
