Fall 2007-2008 Creative Portfolio
Undergraduate Admissions
The portfolio must be submitted with your electronic application. The following should be uploaded with your application.
1. Transcripts:
Provide your most recent un-official high school or college transcript (because of the schedule, most applicants cannot gain access to an up-to-date official transcript until after our submission deadline)
When possible an official transcript is preferred
Due to confidentiality rules, we are not authorized to access transcripts from the UCF Registrar's Office
Please provide with your transcript a list of any film-related courses you attended, the five most valuable classes you attended in addition to the film classes
Also include the instructors’ names and the grades you received for all of the above.
This should be in PDF or Word 2003 or earlier document format.
2. References:
Please list two people, not related to you, whom we may contact for further information about your artistic and academic abilities. (Note: this is not a guarantee that contact will be made). Be sure to secure their permission first. Include phone numbers, best times to call, and e-mail addresses. DO NOT SEND LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION.
3. Essay I: "Pick a work of art, a piece of music, and a film that have influenced you and describe how they have shaped your creative sensibilities." Limit your essay to 500 words. This should be in PDF or Word 2003 or earlier document format.
4. Essay II: Analyze your own work as presented in your portfolio. Discuss what you feel you learned in creating the selected work. Limit your essay to 750 words. This should be in PDF or Word 2003 or earlier document format.
5. Creative Pages: Provide samples of any creative work - writing (short story, screenplay, etc.), artwork, photographs, storyboards, etc. Limit your submission to 10 pages. This should be in PDF or Word 2003 or earlier document or JPEG format.
6. Visual Project: THIS ELEMENT IS OPTIONAL. If you choose to submit a video project as part of your application, it must be submitted via YouTube (view uploading instructions). This is the only acceptable method of submission. Mail in/walk in DVD's, tapes, or other website URLs will not be accepted. Please put the correct URL address for your Youtube video in the space provided. Please list the video title and your role(s) in it's creation in the spaces provided. Videos must be no more than 5 minutes in total running time.
