Adam's Blog

My sister works for a medical group in Nashville. One of the nurses she works with has an 11 year old son, Adam. He had, what they thought, was a fast growing cyst behind his eye. It turned out to be cancer. My sister says he's such a stoic little guy. And this week, he started six months of radiation therapy.

His parents started a blog, in order to keep everyone up to date on what was going on. It's pretty interesting. The entry my sister emailed me about specifically is here:
Adam's Blog

It sems Adam likes old license plates, and his family thought they'd try to collect some from friends and family from different states in order to cheer him up during his treatment.

I told my sister that I think I have some old Virginia plates out in the garage. I'll be looking this weekend. And I told her I'd ask you all. If any of you have any old license plates collecting dust in your garage, if you'd send one to me, I'll deliver them to my sister on Memorial Day weekend. I would be especially thrilled to get a license plate or two from outside the US. I think he'd get a big kick out of plates from the UK or Australia. I'll even reimburse you for shipping, if you'd like.

So, if you'd like to take part in this little project, let me know. Anyone who needs my snail mail addy can email me for it. (becky at beckyjo.com)

Thanks!

(Incidentally, if anyone should feel the desire to comment over on Adam's blog, please don't point them back here. I'd just as soon keep my family away from my LJ, thanksverymuch. I told her I would post the information where a good amount of people would see it, but I didn't elaborate. ;))
