This story is wonderful on so many levels.

The ending is very staisfying. I love how they could travel, experiment and be rewarded by life, finally.

I love how we still recognize some charcteristic from Esca and Marcus, even if the context is different than canon.

When I read your story I can picture myself there. You make it all sound very authentic.

I loved this story all the way through. Historical AUs are one of my favorites, and you just nailed the feel of the time so well. And you also handled their developing relationship so perfectly--the ups and downs, the fevered excitement of finally admitting their feelings for each other--none of it felt rushed. I really didn't know at the beginning if this was going to have a happy ending, so I'm very glad it did! And so sweet and loving, too. Your Marcus and Esca characters were great fun--I especially liked your take on Marcus--it's a little different from any others I've seen, but it really captured his sweetness and stubbornness perfectly.
