Performance Tour to Boston
May 10 - 13, 2006
Day 1 - Wednesday May 10
7:30am - motorcoach (es) arrives at All Saints Catholic Secondary School (Kanata) to load music equipment, luggage and passengers
8:00am - departure from Kanata for Boston (estimated drive time is 9 hours including a stop to purchase lunch and stretch your legs
5:00pm - estimated time of arrival in downtown Boston at the Hard Rock Café Boston - where you will enjoy a pre-selected choice off of the “Gold” Menu
6:30pm - after dinner, transfer to the Charles Street Playhouse where you will have time to find your seats for tonight’s performance by “Blue Man Group”
- note: once your driver has dropped you off at the theatre he is required to return to your hotel for the night and book off duty as he will have been on duty for the maximum number of hours permitted by MTO Regulations - local transportation is provided to take the group back to the hotel after the performance
7:00pm - the show begins! enjoy the performance
9:00pm - at the conclusion of the show, meet locally chartered motorcoach transfer (s) in front of the theatre and depart for the hotel for the night
9:30pm - estimated time of arrival that the Four Points by Sheraton - Boston Logan Airport - where you will check in for 3 night’s accommodation - remainder of the evening at leisure at the hotel
Day 2 - Thursday May 11
- continental breakfast is included this morning at the hotel
- board motor coach(es) and depart for Cambridge MA
- arrive at Harvard University where you will set up in a private rehearsal room for 2 - 1 hour clinics (one for Instrumental Musicians and & 1 for the Choristers) to take place consecutively incase there is cross over between the 2 ensembles
- your clinics this morning will be led by faculty members of the Harvard University School of Music
- at the conclusion of your workshop, suggest a self guided walking tour of he Harvard Yard University Campus, which was founded 16 years after the arrival of the Pilgrims at Plymouth, it is the oldest institution of higher learning in the United States that can boast of 7 graduates who became President of the United States and 40 graduates who became Nobel Laureates
- purchase lunch from one of the restaurants located in the Harvard Yard before departing for downtown Boston
2:00pm - meet a representative from Bay Colony Historical Tours for a 2 hour walking tour of The Freedom Trail - highlights include the State House on Beacon Hill, The Boston Common, The Old Granary Burial Ground and the Boston Massacre Site and the Old North Church
4:00pm - your tour will conclude at Faneuill Hall Market Place where you will have some free time to shop for souvenirs off of the carts and take some great pictures

Day 2 - con’t…
4:30pm - board your coach and depart for the village of Salem, one of America’s oldest and most noteworthy cities - known primarily for the infamous witch trials of 1692, it was also at one time the busiest shipping port in the New World, and the home of Nathaniel Hawthorne, author of the “House of the Seven Gables” and “The Scarlet Letter” - time available to explore the historic area before dinner
6:30pm - enjoy a 3 course group dinner at Rockafellas’ (or similar) on Essex Street
- Note: once your driver has dropped you off he is required by law to continue on to return to the hotel and book of duty for the night so as not to exceed the maximum number of hours he is permitted to be on duty each day - local transportation to be arranged to take the group to the hotel at the end of the evening
8:00pm - at the conclusion of dinner meet a professional guide from Bay Colony Historical Tours for a Candlelit Historical Walking Tour of Salem which will highlight significant locations along the “Witch Trial” Trail
10:00pm - at the conclusion of the tour meet locally chartered transfers from Cavalier Coach Lines in front of the restaurant and return to the hotel for the night
10:45pm - estimated time of arrival at the hotel - retire to your rooms for the night
Day 3 - Friday May 12
- continental breakfast is included at the hotel
- board coach and depart for your performance location (local school, retirement home or public venue as requested)
- this morning will be set aside to accommodate a performance by the All Saints Catholic Secondary School Music Department - Good Luck!
- at the conclusion of the performance, pack up your equipment and load onto the coach time to purchase lunch
- this afternoon is available for independent sightseeing in your chaperone groups - make note of the following suggestions: (additional admissions where required are the responsibility of the individual)
- shopping at the CambridgeSide Galleria (Cambridge) - located on the banks of the picturesque Charles River, and minutes from downtown Boston, CambridgeSide Galleria offers great shopping with over 120 specialty boutiques, kiosks and restaurants. Stores include Filene’s, Sears, Best Buy, Borders, the Apple Store
- self guided tour of the Museum of Fine Art - one of the most comprehensive art museums in the world , it encompasses over 400,000 works of art. We welcome more than one million visitors each year to experience art from ancient Egyptian to contemporary, special exhibitions, and innovative educational programs.
- self guided tour of the New England Aquarium - explore the world of water and its inhabitants in one of the finest aquariums on the eastern seaboard
5:00pm - time to discuss dinner plans before tonight’s event
5:30pm - OPTION: enjoy a “family style” Italian Feast at Vinny T’s of Boston - entrées are served on large platters so you can help yourself - it’s a lot of fun- dinner includes house salad and foccacia bread, a choice of 2 entrées plus dessert and beverage
7:00pm - after dinner, meet your coach(es) and depart for Boston’s Symhony Hall
8:00pm - arrive at Boston’s historic Symphony Hall in time to find your seats for tonight performance by the Boston Pop’s Orchestra under the direction of John Williams.
- at the conclusion of the evening, meet locally chartered motorcoach transfers in front of Symphony Hall and depart for your hotel
retire to your rooms immediately upon arrival - lights out!
Day 4 - Saturday May 13
- breakfast is included this morning followed by check out and loading of the coach
- board your coach and depart Boston for home (estimated drive time is 9 hours including a stop for lunch and to stretch your legs
- late afternoon arrival in Kanata at All Saints Catholic High School - welcome home
