When I wake up I am greeted by a smiley Billie Joe.
“Hey Mikey, How do ya feel?”
I feel like someone ran me over and the reversed back over me a few times, but I am not going to tell Bill that; he’ll just worry.
“I am ok, I guess.” I sit up looking around the room; it is terribly white it hurts my eyes.
“He’s not here.” Billie blurts out.
“Huh?” I look back at him; realising who he means, I didn’t expect him to be here.
“Tre, he was here but he got sick and they had to take him back to his room.”
“What happened? He was here?” I didn’t think he would want to be in the same room as me.
“Yes he was, but he…he wasn’t feeling to well that’s all.”
“Oh...” well that was a lie; I doubt he was even here, just Billie trying to make me feel better.

Mike had been lying in his bed for most of the day; while the doctors and nurses came in and out every so often checking his monitors. Billie had left not to long ago to look in on Tre; he hadn’t told Mike about Tre flipping out; screaming and shouting thinking that he might have killed Mike. Best if he told him later when he was better, he didn’t want Mike to blame himself and end up having a panic attack or something.
As Billie walked on down the hallway pondering the conditions of both his band mates; he was jolted out of his thoughts from a ‘crash,’ ‘bang,’ and then screaming; familiar screaming; he looked up and a nurse came running out of Tre’s room. Billie quickly rushed over, “What happened?”
“He just lost it! I was giving him his lunch and talking about how he was feeling, then he flipped!” the nurse panted, “He throw his lunch at the wall and told me to get out, before he started screaming ‘leave me alone’”
“Ok, I go and sort him out,” Billie sighed; turning back to the nurse, “I am sorry, but would it be possible to call for a therapist or something. I think he needs to see one; I am really getting worried now.”
“Oh sure I think Dr. Neil is arranging one for him; I know he doesn’t mean it. This usually happens when something has changed dramatically, or quickly; like someone passing away or leaving.” The nurse tried to explain.
“Yer, that’s what I was thinking, anyway thanks.” Billie cautiously walked in; he saw Tre’s bed but; no Tre. He scanned the room and found Tre huddled in the corner.
Stepping fully into the room he began to walk towards Tre slowly.
“Tre…Tre?” He knelt down in front of the drummer.

“Tre, please calm down.” He began stroking Tre hair; to sooth him.
“Tre?” He looked up at Billie his face all wet with tears; his eyes were not there normal bright blue they were more; grey with fear and unease.
“He gone hasn’t he?” He sobbed.
“What? No, no, Tre Mike’s fine, he’s has woken up actually. Do you wanna…?”
“NO!” Tre squeaked, “I can’t, can’t”
Billie sighed; sitting down cross legged in front of the drummer, “Tre, Mike loves you, I can see he does, and you love him too.”
“No, no, no, if he did he wouldn’t have left me…n he left…he left! That’s not LOVE!”
“No, I know that but he was scared, and your scared too, that’s why you keep freaking out; because you’re scared. If you both opened your eyes you’d see that.” Billie sighed and got up.
“Now I am going to check on Mike, now you can come or stay here and drive yourself even more insane with you neuroses.” With that he turned and walked off; leaving Tre, he hoped trail behind!
