What can I say to blow your mind today?
What a nice day. Thanks to all for the help with Preview... I still don't get it, as it *does* have some form of OCR, or else there is a secret slightly-off text encoded in to some pdfs because when I hightlight in texts I don't always get the exact text copied to my clipboard..hmmm.... *shrug*
I think I finally kicked my pot and CSI binge and got back into serious work today (because it's not like I have much choice... the amount of things I have on my plate now is quite awful... think buffet plate in Texas big ... so I have to be extra vigilant.
today I:
Ratified a meeting schedule for the conference I am helping to organize next spring.
Contacted the last two people who I was supposed to contact asking if they were interested in said conference.
Picked through an academic journal selecting nice juicy articles on intimacy for my queer theory course.
Did most of the leg work for my book review which I will finish off tomorrow.
Watched as my house caught fire and was put out by french firemen.
Cleaned.
Rearranged furniture (again).
And I'm going to try to read at least one of my kids' articles for monday before sleep.
tommorow I will:
finish the readings
finish the book review
start a bibliography for my alternative media paper (Tentatively titled "Slash Networks as Queer Heterotopias or Just What Kind of Alternative Media are Sexualized Fan Fiction Spaces?"
mark some MLA assignments
start prepping my lecture about images
write a letter of reccomendation for a student
start readings for alternative media
think about starting readings for queer theory
Wow, that was boring, except fot the fire bit, which was mostly a lie (but there was an alarm, and actual firetrucks with french firemen...).
pS Did I mention that my teaching strategy is basically to become Grissom?
