Every year I make a string of New Year resolutions and then wait and see how long it takes me to break them. This year I have surpassed myself and had broken one by January 5th. I was going to start doing the morning pages, each morning you write down all the thoughts in your head in hope that one day they might be useful. This was going well until last night when I took stuff over to my new house ahead of my big move on Saturday, accidently packing my morning pages notebook. I am looking at this as a blip rather than an outright failure.
I am a great believer that if I tell enough people that I am going to do something I will do it, so here are my other New Year’s resolutions:
1) Be a more active member of Live Journal
2) Take better care of myself (this makes this list every year, if I actually stuck to it I would be a female Adonis by now)
3) Finish my novel
4) Start a vegetable patch and look after it all year
5) Shop at my local farmers market
6) Write more letters to my sister and mother
I think all of those are achievable and will make me into a much better human being, or maybe a very dull one.
