Looking for cable v. satellite advice
We're considering switching our system from Directv with TiVo to digital cable of some kind (so far, I have only researched Comcast). We want to upgrade to HDTV. We already have an HD-ready TV, but from my initial perusal of the Directv site, we would need a new dish (ours is the old single-line version), and a new HD receiver/DVR. And of course, we'd be paying for the HD programming as well as the monthly DVR charge (which we're not paying now because we paid the "lifetime" fee when we got our TiVo).
Comcast looks a lot cheaper--no need to get a new dish, obviously, and the rest of the hardware and installation seems cheaper. Also, not being at the mercy of the weather (my only real complaint about satellite) is attractive.
I welcome any and all suggestions, personal experiences, advice, opinions, rumors...
