A lot of people find it strange that I love The Police as much as I do, but I don't think they realize just how kick-ass they were. It seems the majority just associates The Police with Sting, and then associate Sting with 'things that are lame...' and so on. The had some fucking sweetass tunes, not gonna lie.
But maybe I'm just crazy. People also tend to describe me as having a 'unique ear' in terms of taste in music. Which to me, translates as 'I am apparently not a big enough hipster to accurately judge you on your tastes, so instead I shall shun/mock thee'.
Jenn's asshole hipster tip #3535424: Name drop the band 'Sparks' when encountering some self-described musicphile/walking dictionary of bands. Unless (s)he is a ridiculous fan of all things that are Morrissey, (s)he will never have heard of them. Of course his (or her) response will be vague and likely condescending, as is the hipster thing to do. I claim 90% of people in the city of Ottawa knowing about them because of me, but that's a whole 'nother incoherent rant which has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH THE POLICE.
