I have to admit that I am not so sure what the local FM rawk station is playing (I usually am on top of things).
In any case, I know Scars on Broadway are not that obscure, but as far as I know, they're not huge superstars either.
SoB is Daron (and John) from System of a Down's solo project.
It probably sticks closer to the SoaD formula than Serj's solo album, but it also tends to be a more consistent and satisfying album.
Unless, you're completely new to System, you could probably already make up your mind. The good news is if you like what Daron has done on Mesmerize and Hypnotize, you will be quite pleased. Kerrang gave this a 5 out of 5. If you are not a fan of Daron's work (it won't work for everyone) this probably won't convince you otherwise.
