For the first time in a long while, things are going pretty well for me. I got into a school, and now we have an apartment, too.

It's going to cost money, obviously, and because of that I'll be giving my mom $200 each month for bills and rent, now, too, but I don't mind at all.

The apartment, for those of you who know the town, is on Pellett Street. Yes, the one-way street that goes up to Highland Street. YES MADAM C I AM NOW AN EVEN SHORTER DISTANCE FROM YOU THAN BEFORE. I am going to be moving... three blocks. Four if you count the two sides of the curb as... well, two. The garage will be perfect for my bike, and I can still get to school and work lickity-split. We just spent three hours washing the place out- the previous residents were crazy pregnant drug addicts that were also, apparently, filthy. I had to scrub the floor of the living room twice, and then do a light runover with a mop after.

We only have one neighbor, and he's downstairs and cool as a pie. He's awesome. He's an old dude, and likes biology and animals and woodworking. It's nice to have such a cool neighbor guy.

I really like our new apartment. I'm almost worried to get too happy, because I can still see things going wrong somehow. It's been two and a half years since we had a place of our own, and before that... actually, I don't think I've ever really lived someplace peaceful. It's always been filled with strife. I guess nobody really knows, but when we moved from Maine, the place we had lived in was, well... It was the kind of place that makes me not afraid to walk down Elliot Street at night. A lot of bad things happened there, and especially to us, so.

And now I'm going to be living in the kind of place that is... a pleasure to move into.
