Well, it's been a long time. This is because my life is boring beyond belief.
Ah well, I'll do like everyone else, and post anyway.
So. The magic system I wrote for that friends system has stood up to use in the first few adventures. A few more, and I'll see how the higher level stuff bears out. I got in a few original ideas, and the system as a whole is good fun, so it should end up evolving into a great system indeed.
Apart from that, the only other point of note is my job. I enjoy it, but I am still on minimum wage. Last year, we got a dividends scheme set up, and we all were happy. This year, takings are down a bit from last year, so the dividends have been dropped. So. I've been there 2 years, and am on 4 days a week, minimum wage. AND, they make me work weekends most of the time, which cuts into roleplaying, and they still haven't even confirmed any of my CP dates yet. AND, they have never let me have renewal off, even the one I booked 5 months before I even went for my interview there (I did mention it at the interview, when they asked about holidays, too.....)
So. I am looking for a new job. Same old story though, overqualified, too old, not enough experience. Strangely, owning a large amount of weaponry does not seem to convince people that I am right and they are wrong. It worked in almost all historical ages, so perhaps weapons being made of foam and latex has changed this in some way.....
