I am debating whether to go to CP this year. most of the people I knew from it have either stopped going, or switched to other factions. Of the few who remain, they are usually off doing stuff with other people

Well, I think there's two issues here and they may or may not be the same thing. 1. What does Keith want? 2. What does Nate want? If the Jhereg appeals to both of those people, then stay: Nate clearly wants to. If *Keith* does not then retire Nate and create a new character based around a different format: a different group in the Jhereg or a group in another faction. I would recommend trying a different faction for a while. It can help you get a different perspective on things, and one I am certainly valuing.
But is there a place in the Jhereg for Nate? (I recall he can use a bow and not much more) What does he want? Where is he going? What goals does he have?
If you can't answer these questions in anything other than the vaguest term maybe you should consider a complete about-face and play something totally diferent. Play a grim ritualist. Or a suicidally brave alchemist. Or a bloodthirsty warrior, body devved up to the hilt. Or an otherworldly shaman (choice of magic open). I don't believe you've played any of them and these concepts could fit any group with little financial outlay on your behalf.
Or go and join the Fir Cruithen. I don't know anyone in that faction and I need a gossip route ;P
