Whining...that is all this is going to be, so feel free to skip it.
I'm too lazy to lj-cut this, apologies.
Death to winter. Don't get me wrong, I *love* Christmas, but I love it in a being inside baking yummy treats while listening to Josh Groban or the Vienna Boys Choir kind of way. I prefer a White Christmas, and I like to have good buffer of snow so as to feel secure about that and not have to worry, but I consider a good buffer two weeks-two weeks is all I need. 4-5 weeks? That's unnecessary! Stupid snow. I woke up this morning to find that 20cm of snow had fallen. But it started snowing when the ground was still warm, so some of the snow melted...and then froze....and then made ice. Ice covered with snow. This is
A) Crappy to get off your car. You have to brush and scrape. Not cool.
B) Crappy to drive on. You can't really see where the ice is, b/c of the snow. Everybody is either driving way too slow or way too fast. Which results in a crapload of fender benders and cars in ditches
Results:
A)I spend a considerable amount of time standing in shin deep snow, which has caused me to get sick, moreso. I've been fending off some kind of combo flu/cold bug by sleeping craploads and forcing myself to eat even though I end up feeling nauseous about half the time. I think the cold has started to win, b/c my legs ache like you wouldn't believe. I feel like I'm 9, with growing pains, and I just want to curl up in bed with my binky and my stuffed dog.
B) I have to get new tires. My father mentioned this to me last week, but I figured I had a couple of weeks until I really needed to get them. Clearly I was wrong, as I attempted to stop my vehicle on the way to work, and failed. Apparently my car interprets "stop" as "fishtail, and then spin into a snow bank". Little bit of a crossed wire there. So I'm going to end up bankrupting myself on winter tires, hoping that the extra winter-y-ness of them will compensate for the lack of ABS in my car. *sniff* I miss ABS.
Results of the results:
A)I'm tired and whiny.
B)I'm po' and whiny. And I can't go to visit Amy this weekend and shop and watch "Rent"!. Which sucks b/c I really wanted to.
Upsides to all of this?
A)In four days it's supposed to be 15C for a day or two.
B)My dad is staying home from work and we're all going to loaf around and watch a movie tonight.
