[REVIEW] One Pound Gospel - Round Four

Feb 09, 2008 16:45

I loved this episode so much I want to marry it and force it to make me pancakes in the morning.

maya_morning is persuading me to join in the Akame fic wave, with a little snippet in every post. However, as this is a drama review I don't think it's appropriate to start here. Next time, ne?

Beware spoilers... )

Ooooohhhhhh! I *loved* your review!

Kousaku is an absolute lunatic, but Kame plays him so fantastically, and I can't help but adore the character, even if I do at times want to have him checked into the nearest looney bin ward sometimes! And the part with him in the boxing ring in the dark with all the other lads was just SO MUCH WIN. I absolutely LOVE the other characters in this drama. They're like his family, and gawd, I just adore them all SO MUCH.

I can't wait to watch episode 5! The Valentine episode apparently. I....*face palms*

OH KOUSAKU

Thank you! *sparkles*

Kousaku is indeed completely nuts, and yet utterly adorable. No wonder they can't help but love him, even if he gets on their nerves sometimes! I wonder what big emotional moment they will serve us with in today's episode? Can't wait till next Saturday to find out!

After reading your review, I kind of want to rewatch the episode again. *LOL ( ... )

I think they've been supportive all the time

In a way, yeah, but it was so much more obvious in this episode. Before it's sort of "well, we'll indulge him" and now it's "we have to protect him". But you're right, it is very nice that they don't have rivalries like that - they know he's the strongest and they're okay with it.

Kousaku trying to get around the ban. *giggles* I'd be a bit surprised if he suddenly turned up in the hood!

I don't mind Sister Millie - if she was like all the other nuns there, there wouldn't be much conflict for Sister Angela at the convent since the rest of them don't mind Kousaku too much. Whether she's a good person...well...I have no idea. I don't know her reason for becoming a nun, or what she was like before, so I won't speculate.

I don't know why sister Millie irritates me that much, as you say, someone must be the conflict maker... maybe because when I read the manga the character of sister Millie was the head of the convent and she annoyed me to no end... anyway, I think she'll soften up in the end.

Next episode looks promising. =)

I was so in love with this episode. I admit to getting slightly teary eyed in this episode, especially the scene where he tells Sister Angela he hops she'll find happiness. I agree with you about him being either an absolutely fantastic actor or having had his heart broken into teeny, tiny pieces. I wonder too if its slightly painful for people who know him to watch too. :((

hyperactive, hungry little lovestruck lunatic.

I feel this description perfectly describes Kousaku!

Don't worry about the snippet-you have more than made up for it with such a lovely review!!

It was a gorgeous episode, wasn't it? Painful, though. I wonder if his family watch the show? And if so, what they think of his performance? Kame *is* a good actor, but I'm really curious if he's had such heartbreaking experiences himself.

Nobody in this series seems to grasp one crucial concept: nuns can't date. - LOL...yes, you would've thought by now that maybe some of them might have realised this! XDD
I really enjoyed reading your review - very amusing but also you pick up on some things I didn't notice so much when I watched (maybe because I was being so distracted by Kame looking so cute/adorable/beautiful etc etc.!)
And like you, I loved the all the boxers being there for Kousaku and supporting him, especially in the love letter scene ^___^

Thank you! I do cheat a little, though - I watch the episode once on my TV, then when I write the review, I skim through it on my laptop so I don't forget the things I wanted to write about - hence all the detail! (Because I know the first time round, I certainly get distracted by Kame. ^_^)
