Bored.

Yom Kippur in Israel is real boring, especially when you're secular. Everything shuts down--airport, trains, tv stations, radio stations, no one drives (for fear of stoning). The whole country, except for the Arab parts, sort of turns off for a day. While the religious go to temple and fast, the secular walk around and bike in the streets. All my family has been talking about how neat it is to see empty streets, and to be able to walk and bike in them because no one is out driving. I walked outside, and admittedly, I'm unimpressed. Mostly, I was disappointed that I had to stay put at home all day when there was perfectly good beach weather. Also, knowing that so many people in the country were fasting as a means of atonement, I ended up eating a lot more than I usually would.

But, the past few days have been great. Momma arrived, we rented a car, and we spent the last two days at the beach. Even though it's been 75 degrees and sunny all week, it's still considered "off-season," so the beach was mostly empty. Momma and I sat, ate some Bamba (peanut-flavored corn-puffs), worked on our tans, and played with some sea shells. Pretty much, we did a whole lot of nothing--it was wonderful.

...oh, no. Children have arrived at the house. I'm off to hide. Seacrest out.
