Dear Yuletide Author 2015
Thank you for writing for me this year. <3 I put this post together to elaborate on my requests and give you some ideas if you're stuck.
01. The Flash, any (but the only offered characters are Leonard Snart, Mick Rory, Lisa Snart, and Sam Scudder)
I'd prefer new52 stuff, to be entirely honest, since that's what I've been reading the most recently for Flash comics. Most-most recently has been Forever Evil, FE: Rogues' Rebellion, and the Justice League trade that takes place after the Forever Evil crossover.
I'm not entirely sure what I want to say here, since a lot of my perception of the characters are influenced by old52, the CW Flash show, and talking to people. That being said, I absolutely adore Sam and Lisa, and their relationship, and their badass thievery. (Catwoman #48-#50 has some nice stuff with Sam as a secondary character competing with Selena in a 'race of thieves'.) Lisa risking everything to pull Sam out of Mirror World, and Sam risking everything to get back to her after things go to hell with the Crime Syndicate.
I... really like the idea of Lenny and Mick being best friends, even if that friendship is rocky and full of clashing. Especially since the powers. (I also like the idea of Mick fucking Lenny to steaming.)
I wonder how Lenny would react if he knew Mick's parting words were, "Lenny would never give himself up for me!"
Also, how the Rogues are handling Lenny going to work for Lex Luthor. (Um, also, if I might go a little dark, Lex finding out how god-damn good-looking Lenny is without his glasses and hitting on him, and Lenny being all "do not want".)
I love that the Rogues seem to go out bar-hopping in their costumes. Also, I think they might be hockey fans? Not clear on that.
The powers they picked up are interesting, even if Forever Evil did spend some time depowering half of them. Though, Sam still has his mirror-travel powers, I think, he just needs his mirror-gun to make things work properly and to do more fine-tuned stuff. Also to make mirrors anywhere. There's definite potential in the fact he no longer needs his gun to travel to, through, and from Mirror World, and I bet using it would get easier if he practiced it.
I love a good heist story, so seeing the Rogues pull one off would be rad. Flash or no Flash or whatever hero interfering you want. Or no interference! Superheroes can't always be dealing with the guys who are just thieves when there's people like the Joker around.
So yeah, there's a lot of stuff I'd be interested in. Ship stuff, canon stuff, AU stuff, adventure stuff, slice-of-life stuff whatever. Just gimme the new52 Rogues being awesome.
02. Guild Hunter series - Nalini Singh, Noel and Nimra
Noel appears briefly in Archangel's Kiss, and Nimra is mentioned now and then throughout the rest of the books. But her and Noel's story is the novella "Angel's Wolf" in the Angels' Flight collection. Definitely give it a read, it's awesome.
Anyways, I'd love to see more of them. Nimra rules New Orleans and the surrounds, so I imagine she had to deal with some shit while the Archangel of China had a go at Raphael. (Forgive me, I'm blanking on names.) But there's always them being domestic and cute. Or smaller adventures that don't involve the entire continent being threatened.
03. Jackie Chan Adventures, Jackie and Valmont
I am not even sure what I want here. Adventure is good. Shipping. Whatever. I just want Valmont to get a chance to be awesome. I hate what they did with him in later seasons. I remember in the first season when he was one of the few people who could fight Jackie to a standstill.
Please don't be discouraged at how much there is for the Flash and how little for everything else. I've been obsessing over the Flash lately, so that's where a lot of brain-power has gone. I would still love either of the others, I just have many fewer thoughts on things about them that I want.
