Because I really, really want to write some League of Legends stuff right now. Also open to Star Wars (original trilogy, Thrawn books, Unsung Heroes, and Cadets) and AtLA. No LoK, because I'm still not caught up on that ( Read more... )

[Star Wars] Searching for Solo beckyh2112 May 30 2015, 19:39:32 UTC
I'm on a bit of a Star Wars kick, and Demons!Urzai isn't being helpful.

Anakin Skywalker had not been a patient man. Darth Vader regretted that, when he allowed himself the luxury of regrets. The ability to let fury roil until the right time to release it might have kept Padme alive.

At the least, it would have kept him from being her murderer.

Darth Vader was a patient man. Not with fools, but with the Empire itself. With the Emperor, who was failing to create the Empire he had promised. With the clones and other men who served and protected the Empire. With the moffs, and their scrabbling attempts to destroy the Pax Imperia.

He was patient. When he struck against the Emperor and the moffs, it would be swift and devastating. Until then, he would wait.

And wonder. The rebels called the pilot 'Skywalker'. It was... an unusual name. Had the boy taken it deliberately, or...?

No. He had killed Padme, and he himself had never had siblings.

An unknown cousin, maybe.

(In the Force, the boy had felt like Obi-Wan and like Ahsoka.)

Skywalker was missing, though, but Vader's spies had told him more than the pilot's name. He'd come in with a smuggler named Han Solo. A discreet inquiry with his most successful bounty hunter contact had yielded a great deal of information on Solo, as well as an offer to pursue him.

Vader was tempted to let him. He wanted Solo alive to lure the Skywalker boy to him, Jabba the Hutt wanted him dead, and Boba Fett always did like to be paid twice.
