"That's hardly more than a scrap of cloth," Hakoda splutters.

Crimson cloth is draped in a manner that almost describes a dress, except it's missing most of the skirts and all of the sleeves. It is artfully draped, though, Hakoda will give it that. There's even a topaz brooch on Ozai's right hip, pinning it all together with a tantalizing tail of red.

"It is a bit short," Ozai agrees. "There's no real fun in pushing this one up."

Hakoda tries to visualize that. His hand on Ozai's muscular thigh, fingers catching on crimson cloth and pushing it up towards hips-

He stops thinking about there.

Overly dressed Waterfolk don't get short dresses; clothes are supposed to keep you warm. Body movement is supposed to be sexy.

Oh, Ozai, what are you doing to this man's sensibilities with your scrap of a cloth and forward flirting?

I enjoy it, notably the description of the dress and Ozai being so casual about the dress's drawbacks.

Silk shimmies about her legs, the sensation so distracting. She should be wearing stockings, she thinks, but all she is wearing is bare skin. Bare skin and black silk, and pretty gold sandals.

There are citrines on the sandals and on the line of imperial red above her breasts.

She steps forward, and the slit in her skirt makes it fall around her pretty leg. Ozai's eyes drop. Zhao's eyes flicker down. The air around them both hazes with heat.

Ursa feels so bare.

She feels so young and girlish in this piece. Like it's her first adult dress. I keep feeling like this is either right after she's married to Ozai and realizes she does want/care about him or after he comes home where she has to cement his affections for her.

And she got Zhao's attention, too. Interesting. Will Ozai bite, I wonder?

The Director sprawls across the chaisse lounge, in a dress as green and dark as secrets. Gold lines it, and How's eyes follow a line of gold frogs up Long Feng's right side and across his shoulder to his throat.

The dress has no sleeves. For the first time he can remember, How sees Long Feng's arms bare. He sees the muscle in them, and the scars. He sees the muscles of Long Feng's legs, a slit in the silk skirt revealing so much.

He wants to kiss that revealed skin.

Long Feng's foot digs into the stone floor, and How thinks he doesn't have a chance in hell of getting near the Director right now.

I am reminded of a snake the way how Long Feng is described, lovely and reclined and ready to strike. Oh, he so very, very cruel to General How. Of course, should How have seen this?
