Wonderful! I love to get a deeper look into one of the "bad" characters and you do it beutifully and very believable.

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Exploring villains is one of the things I love to do most with fanfiction. "Everyone is the hero of their own story" - so why do these people do what they do?

This idea has been rattling around in my mind for a while. I've just been trying to find a story to articulate it in.

Ohhhhhh. I do like the idea behind this. So Long Feng was playing a different game than Azula realized after all? Very nice. I also like the touch of him calling Avatar Kyoshi, Mother.

I never could handle how "Crossroads of Destiny" depicted Long Feng's loss to Azula. It was like "what? he's an adult, powerful earthbender in a city he controls absolutely. why doesn't he just smush her?". So I spent a lot of time gnawing on it to find a way for things to make sense to me.

Bad people who realise they are not good are interesting.

To me, Long Feng has always had a better grasp on morality than Ozai. So he knows what he's doing is wrong but he tends to excuse it in various ways. "The ends justify the means."
