Quick Meme: Harlequin

Give me a pairing and a title reminiscent of the sillier Harlequin titles (I recommend checking Harlequin Presents, Romance, Historical Undone, and Silhouette Special Edition for ideas. Especially Presents), and I will drabble you something very silly.

MEME IS CLOSED.

Harlequin Romance: To Love, Honor, and Disobey beckyh2112 August 10 2010, 17:01:54 UTC
'Prince Zuko is... willful,' Prince-General Iroh said when Jee took this job. Jee thought he knew what that meant: spoiled, arrogant, used to doing whatever the hell he wanted without thought to consequences.

In the three years since with his charge, Jee has come to the conclusion that he was more or less right. Zuko is arrogant enough for three nobles and used to doing whatever he wants-

But from what he's gleaned of the boy's family-life, that's more because his uncle is the only member of the royal family who gives a ratroach's hind leg if the prince lives or dies.

Iroh isn't around when Prince Zuko comes stumbling back bloody.

"Prince Zuko," Jee says with a scowl as he cuts the young man out of his dark clothes. He's not going to ask why the boy is dressed like a sneak-thief. "You have a bodyguard for a reason."

The prince laughs softly, the sound more painful than it ought to be. "So Uncle feels better about himself."

Jee stands. He needs to get boiled water and cloth to clean out the wound, then still more cloth to bandage it. Maybe even needle and gut, though he's never been the best at sewing wounds.

Prince Zuko catches him by the sleeve, the one eye with expression clouded with worry. "You won't tell Uncle about this...?"

Jee says nothing to that. He fetches what's needful and gently cleans the wound. It doesn't look so bad, and it probably wouldn't be doing Zuko as much damage as it is if the boy had stopped to bandage it instead of limping all the way back here with it bleeding.

The prince's chest rises and falls in deep breaths, his eyes half-lidded, his body relaxed and completely trusting. It's an honor Zuko rarely shows to anyone, and it makes some of Jee's anger fade under an unfamiliar warmth.

Then, because Zuko is getting too complacent, Jee pours brandy over wound.

Ah! Loooove! So much love. The last two paragraphs were my favorite- they made me go from "awwww" to "ahahaha!" :) Your Jee is awesome. <3
