Piandao. Sokka. FULL MOON, BB. beckyh2112 January 10 2010, 19:41:56 UTC
Piandao is too damn Zen sometimes. Or I'm too cold.

---

The boy has curled up asleep, his arms wrapped tight around him, his knees pulled up to his chest, and his monkey-brown tail curled over his body. He's still not sure about the mesa he's stuck on, but Hakoda has been letting his wife spoil the boy.

He'll get down. Or he'll starve to death.

Piandao would prefer that he got down as the boy had too much potential to waste in a needless death, but Sokka would never learn to harness that power if he didn't overcome his fear of, well, everything.

The moon is bright and full, and the green warrior closes his eyes to meditate.

***

The boy wakes up sometime during the night, and Piandao notices immediately, roused by the change in the boy's ki-levels.

The boy doesn't do anything particularly interesting until he turns to stare at the full moon, babbling in soft wonder at the sight of it. Heh. Apparently he's never seen one before. What else has Hakoda been sheltering him from, Piandao wonders.

His tail, which had been switching back and forth, stops moving. His ki begins to pulse like a heartbeat, and the boy falls utterly silent.

What the hell?

Fur sprouts on the boy's arms, and he begins to grow, and before Piandao really has a good grip on what's going on there is a giant monkey on the mesa-

And then there isn't because it cracks under his weight, and the monkey tumbles to the valley floor. It snarls and slams a fist into the side of the mesa, shattering it into a pile of stone.

Piandao gapes. -the hell?!

Then the monkey opens its mouth and vomits energy, destroying another mesa. Chortling in something like delight at the destruction, it does it again, and again, and again.

Piandao can feel its ki, can feel the innocence of the boy's ki, the simple delight without malice- But he can also see the sheer destruction that he's causing, and what the hell, seriously, who turns into a giant monkey when they see a full moon?

("It's under the light of a full moon that a Saiyan's power is greatest," the tailed bastard insisted.)

His twists to face the silver orb, sees the girl in its smile and hates her without any particular malice in it. This is his world, and he won't let anyone destroy it, whether alien monkeys or small children.

He draws his sword and channels ki into it, through it, in a blast not so great as he leveled on the tailed bastard and Hakoda. Bigger, slower target, and the girl in the moon does not have so great a ki as either of them.

The moon explodes.

FWAH. \o/

I ASK YOU, CAN THERE BE ANY BETTER INTERNET GREETING THAN AN EXPLODING MOON?

NO. NO THERE CANNOT. :D

And once again, the bad guy saves the day way more effectively than the good guys. Clearly Piandao should give lessons.

Sword channeling Ki. Sword channeling Ki. ^__^

[He] sees the girl in its smile and hates her without any particular malice in it.

I love that little Yue-as-the-Moon nod to AtLA.
