"There's a car!" Aang said brightly, angling down in a slow descent. Toph grumped and turned to follow after her brother, and Haru followed them both.
It wasn't really a car so much as a van, which was all right by Aang. It was the first set of wheels they'd seen since they'd left Dr. Gero's laboratory, and he wasn't going to keep flying to look for something better when this was right here.
Besides, if they kept flying, they'd get to Son Hakoda's house in, what, half an hour? Then they'd kill him, kill everyone defending him, and boring.
Aang set down on the road, idly noting the two humans bundled up for the mountain winter inside the rest stop. He didn't pay them any mind, though, just opened up the van to peer inside.
"There's all these packages in the way," he commented, glancing at Haru.
The larger android nodded his head once, knelt, picked up the van, and dumped the packages out through the open door. Then he gently set the van back down.
The humans were gibbering, Aang noted. Huh. He trotted around to the front of the van and pulled the door open, climbing into the driver's seat. Toph took the passenger's seat, and Haru climbed into the back.
"Let's go find Son Hakoda!" Aang said as he started up the van.
"Let's go find me some new clothes first," Toph insisted.
He glanced at her, nodding at how torn her clothing was from the little scuffle with the Saiyan prince and the humans. "Yeah, gotta look better for Bato, don'tcha?"
Toph slugged him in the arm. "Shut up, Twinkletoes. I bet you don't even know where we're going."
Aang grinned as he pressed the accelerator to the floor. "Where's the fun in that? Besides Son Hakoda's a famous guy. I'm sure we'll hear something about him."
"Just like that, huh?" Toph said mockingly, reaching over to knock on his head. "Yeah, sure."
"There is a house in the eastern 493 quadrant where Son Hakoda lives," Haru unexpectedly volunteered. It was probably the first time the big guy had spoken since the little fight earlier.
Aang gave Toph a cocky glance. "See? No problems at all."
"We could get there in a matter of minutes if we flew," Haru added.
Toph grinned. "Always know the right thing to say, don'tcha, Angelface? But no, we're going to keep driving, aren't we?"

Angelface! I like that as Toph's nickname to pretty-pretty Haru. I see him being taller than he is in canon. *strokes Haru.*
I like how Aang seems VERY Aang despite the fact he isn't a pacifist in this. The whole desire to fuck around before doing what he has to do is a perfect fit for a 17 fusion.
And while the girly bits might not seem to fit at first, arrogant 18 and Toph mesh nicely. Though I'm not sure if she'd take a fall in a tournament to prove she's the strongest for Money...
