"We've won," Azula tells her brother. "We've conquered Ba Sing Se."

Zuko looks at her, expression lost and body-language all wrong in that green robe. "Yes," he repeats, "We've won."

It passes through Azula's mind that perhaps she broke Zuko by leading him against Uncle Iroh.

This will not do.

She takes him by the hand and leads him up to the Earth King's throne room. The Dai Li, she dismisses. Mai and Ty Lee, she sends away. Zuko's hand in hers feels dead, and she squeezes it often to make sure he hasn't accidentally died on her.

It would be a shame if he had. There are so many games she still wants to play with him.

Games which will be no fun whatsoever if all he does is stare at her like she's not really there.

She pulls him up on the throne with her, pressing his hands to her hip and shoulder, and he looks startled as she reaches up to grip him by the chin.

"What are you-?" He starts to ask, but he's so confused, he just trails off, staring at her.

Azula smiles and hooks one leg over his. "Kiss me like I'm her."

She doesn't know who 'her' is, but Zuko obeys, and there is fire in the back of his throat, and his hands tighten on her clothes.

Better, she thinks. Zuko is so much more fun when he's alive.

The fact that Azula doesn't know and doesn't care makes this Zucest that much darker I think. It's an odd piece, I'd almost SWEAR that Azula's trying to help, albeit for her own selfish reasons.

dammit now I wanna know who 'her' is...
