Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
Non-spoilers: Movie didn't excite me as much as the first one, good military equipment porn, lots of love for the interaction between Sam and his parents and Sam and Mikaela, we hit some tried and true Transformers tropes, and if you like explosions, this movie is for you.
Oh, Lord, they played fast and loose with the geography in this movie. SO FAST AND LOOSE.
Also, the Egyptian Board of Tourism hates everyone. Though I was pleased to see the pyramids actually in the middle of Cairo like they are in the real world, rather than shuffled off into the desert.

"It was an ass-kicking! It was supposed to hurt!"
Mudflap and Skids amused me, though their faces bugged the heck out of me.
The military equipment porn made me very, very happy. Mmmmm. B1-B. Predator. F-16s. F-22s. L-CACs. (My parents helped write the programming for the L-CACs.) Very, very pretty. Very full of explosions.
Hugotron was recognizably Hugotron this movie, since he got a lot of dialogue. I liked his interactions with Starscream. The two of them got on well, for all Megatron kept harassing Starscream.
Didn't really like the junior Sith apprentice and Sith lord dynamic between Megatron and the Fallen. It feels wrong, because Megatron has always been about himself. Autobots vs. Decepticons is classically about Megatron being a megalomaniac.
Soundwave. Soundwave is my new Transformers boyfriend. <3333
Frenzy wants to grow up and be Soundwave.
Sam breaking up with Bumblebee was so sad! I just loved that scene. So well done and so cute.
Ravage! I was very sad to see Ravage die.
Plot? The plot was virtually ignorable. Actually, it's probably better to ignore it and just look at the pretty. I'm sorry, but the plot in this one just sucked.
The return of Agent Simmons was so well done. I love watching him in his scenes, because he's a crazy man, and he knows it and is not afraid to use it.
Leo was fun, too. He reacted quite sanely to all of the insanity around him. I suspect he'll be showing up again in the future. If there is a TF3.
So yeah. Enjoyable but it didn't get me as good as the first one did.
