As near as I can determine from listening to the lyrics over and over, this is about what it's like from someone with a temper, trying to control it. Sometimes I feel like the first part of the song. I don't think I've ever really felt like the end of the song.
I'd make a meandering post about my temper and my experiences with it, but sapphirebreeze made a comment on her LJ yesterday that pretty much sums up what it's like to be the person with the temper problem they try to control.
