SuperStar Munchkin -- Sunday and Monday

Last of this year's con-reports.

Sunday

I woke up early on Saturday and spent a while talking with Adam before I got up myself and hiked back to my hotel for a shower. After a nice shower and a change of clothes, including my kick-ass new Decepticon symbol shirt. Then it was back to the con and getting some lunch from the foodcourt.

There weren't any panels I wanted to go to until five-thirty, so when Sharon gave me a call, I happily joined her, Lys, and Timey. Sometime after that, Puck joined us, and I followed the rest of them to lunch. We all happily took over a table, chatted, and midway through lunch, Negaduck and Dark Bamf happened along. They joined us for lunch, and there was much happy talking. We also got some expensive chocolates to eat.

But eventually Kim and Kathy had to go, and Lys and Ryuu wanted to get autographs from the Walk of Fame. Along the way out of the foodcourt, we ran into Charles and dragged him along with us. Down the escalator, we spotted the Emperor going up the other way with a Royal Guardsman behind him.

At the Walk of Fame, I left Ryuu for a while, dragging Puck along with me to the exhibitors' hall I hadn't gotten to check out yet. There was much happy investigation, and we got Puck a Sound forehead-protector. Much coolness, and we killed time until about 5 o'clock and Puck wanted to go find the Dresden panel. I took her by the hand to lead her through the crowds. This apparently drew some interesting looks.

I enjoyed the panel, and it makes me seriously want to check out the Dresden Files more. More on that panel can be found on Puck's D*C entry. Afterwards, we headed to the Transformer's panel - what, you didn't expect me to? And who found us there? The TF2K5 crew! Fusi joined me and Puck, while the rest scattered about the room.

The Transformers panel was moderately interesting, though there did come up some stuff about the movie with spoilers. Puck and Fusillade helpfully covered my eyes and ears during this portion.

After that, we wandered around and eventually wound up at the same diner I found Puck at the day before. While waiting for the men to get their Munchkin game, I got to enjoy a lovely, lovely massage from Fusillade. *meltpurrs at the memory* God, I'm such a sensualist. I believe she ended up uttering something similar to, "I've got Blitzwing arching up against me and purring. No, I haven't been listening to what you're talking about," to the males.

By the time, Chimeara had returned to the 'con for a Writers' track panel she wanted to attend (101 Fascinating Ways to Kill Off Your Characters), but she'd catch up with us later she said. The food was good, even if Phantom did make the waitress drop my waffles the first time around. The conversation was even better; I quite enjoy old-time MUSH stories. Especially ones that have things like Dredclaw getting sucked into a black hole, someone else trapping themselves on Goo for three real-time months, and the best OC Dinobot ever (he turned into a swarm of compies! Eee! Eee!).

After dinner, it was back to the con-hotels, though Puck had to say good night as she was very tired. Hugs and good-byes were said, and then the rest of us went up to the coffee shop to wait for Chimeara to get back from her panel. Parsec bought me a hot chocolate and Fusi a rich chocolatey dessert that I stole bits of.

Then they taught me how to play Munchkin with a mix of Super Munchkin and Star Munchkin decks. So much fun! The game was pretty easy to pick up, especially with all the helpful people around. The only part that was mildly annoying was that Phantom and Chimeara were on the other side of the table and it was hard to see what cards they had down. Still, tons of fun.

I only got to play one game of SuperStar Munchkin, as it gets rather time-consuming in the endgame. But I was getting very tired and practically falling asleep on Fusillade's shoulder. So they walked me back to my hotel, after a brief venture in the opposite direction due to my lack of navigational abilities at that time of morning, and I hugged assorted people and said my good-byes.

And then there was sleep.

Monday

Got up at a reasonable hour. Imposed on Ryuu to escort me through MARTA back to her house, much love and adoration to her for agreeing. Got on the road at a reasonable hour. Went from "Face Up" to somewhere in the Ns on my iPod.

Got into New Orleans at about 6 or so, had dinner and talked with Mom, then got into Baton Rouge at about 9. And 'lo, Dragon*Con was over.
