"I think acting is the greatest art of all because it's such a direct art. You just have yourself, your body and your soul, and that's all you can use. It's the most direct and complete art form."
-Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck
In other news, my birthday was yesterday. That's right, the big 18. I'm excited. Of course, I'll have to bear the responsibility of my signature being legally binding and being tried as an adult in court. I'm not too concerned about the latter. On the flip-side, however, I can finally be an adult. All those things saying "18 and Over Only" that I used to see and scoff at are my domain now. Also, someone in a group can say "We're all adults here," and I do not have to correct them.
This was the gang when we went to Six Flags yesterday. I'm on the left, then Mike, Thomas, and Jeff. We all look so bushed because we had just gotten back and Mom snapped a picture. We had a lot of fun. We rode lots of rollercoasters, ran around a lot, and ate ridiculously expensive theme park food. (That piece of pizza I ate was NOT worth $9.50.) After we got home, we ate cake (Chocolate Mousse...mmm...drool..) and watched really bad YouTube videos. Then it started to rain, so we, naturally, ran around in it. After drying up, we went to Ruby Tuesdays and had dinner. All in all, it was a great 18th birthday.
I start college in less than a week. I'm nervous, but I'm also really ready for college. I'm taking English 1010, Sociology 1010, Biology 1060 and a lab, and Intro to Pop Culture 1080. The Pop Culture is my "basketweaving" class of the semester. I'm taking them all at CSM (College of Southern Maryland, the local community college) because I figure it's best to take a couple semesters there before moving into a dorm. I'm only 18, after all. Once I'm done with CSM, I'll transfer to University of Maryland College Park. I love that school, and I'm excited to pursue my Biology degree there.
Alright. I'm going to go veg in front of the television and try to recover from yesterday. I'm really sore. One of the rollercoasters (Joker's Jinx, I think) had a really bad whiplash effect and made all of our necks hurt and gave us all bruises on our thighs.
