Dunking your hands for an extended period of time into a cup of Fanta Orange Soda will turn your hands bright orange and it won't wash off. This tip courtesy of the always innovative Holly.
Today she drew on herself with a red Sharpie pen -- a scribble on her belly, lines down each of her legs, and she colored in her toenails. I don't have a picture, but I do have one of her red Sharpie artwork last week:
You might ask Why in the world is she always drawing on herself (and she's been doing it since her baby hands were first able to grip any kind of marker)? But more likely you're asking Why in the world does her mother leave any kind of markers -- especially Sharpies -- within her reach? And I have no answer for that question. I also have no answer for the question Why in the world do I leave my makeup bag within her reach? This also took place today:
Yesterday we got the fourth cucumber from the garden, and it was a doozy. I love how the cucumbers grow nestled down in the grass under the big cucumber plant leaves and half the time you never know they're there until you come upon them completely by accident. We found this one less than a week ago -- it was already this long, and we left it on the vine to get a little fatter and then picked it.
Yummy!
A couple last pictures -- first this one from Ocean City last weekend. We thought it would be fun to take a day trip out there. The drive is about 2.5 hours each way, which is hefty, but we just couldn't afford to stay out there in a hotel during the high season. Unfortunately the traffic was absolutely ridiculous, and although we left at 10 am we didn't reach the beach until 3:30 pm. You can imagine how miserable that hot trip was with three kids. But we had a lot of fun in the sand and water.
We stayed until past 9 pm. The trip back was a breeze with the kids all sleeping and not nearly as many people on the road.
This last picture I think illustrates how much my kids look alike. Check out the reserved smiles on all three faces...
