I can't believe it... *sighs*

Tonight, for the second time this week, I've had peeping toms at my apartment window.

It wasn't as bad this time, since I was wearing clothes. >_< But last time, I wasn't so lucky.

Last time, I was left feeling both enraged and totally vulnerable. If I can't be safe from prying eyes in my own home, then where can I be?

I was sitting at my computer, nekkid (because let's face it, it's cofortable), when I nosticed, out of the corner of my eye, someone looking through the cracks in my blinds. They left when they saw me looking, and I picked up a towel I had been drying my hair with and covered up quickly. In moments, they had returned, and had the gawl to say, "Take the towel off!" I ignored them, and when they left again, I went into my room and fetched a robe, then sat back down at the computer. A few minutes later, they started banging on my windows, and the moment I got up to yell at them, they ran off.

I gathered just a few things. They're kids, and they're (or, at least the speaker is) black. What I want to know is, why were a bunch of kids up at a quarter to two on a school night? And also, does this mean I won't be safe at my own work, either, since I work at the only Middle School in the neighborhood, and the voice sounded like it was that age range?

Well, tonight, they showed up again. First, two walking by banged on my window as they did, then the speaker, sitting on the low wall outside my aprtment, said, "Why aren't you naked? C'mon, take your clothes off! I've got a dollar!"

Ignoring the obvious underage-ness of the boy, I called out, "Why should I be naked when there are brats like you around?"

"But I like your titties and your ass," he replied.

Oh joy. A barely pubescent delinquent thinks I have an attractive body. -_-o

Several of my friends have suggested things that just won't work. Things like calling the cops (the kids would be long gone before the cops ever got there), getting a dog (not allowed in my apartment), yelling at them (again, gone before I'm halfway to the door)...

But I give kudos to Dan who suggested heavy curtains. I'm gonna have to look into that and soon. *sighs*
