Okay, so last night around 2am (or maybe it was 1am--I'm not sure exactly when the clocks changed over) there's this horrible crash and the sound of cats fighting. I get out of bed, rushing to put my bathrobe on, and run into the living room, where I find the screen over one of the windows knocked completely out of the window. I can tell right away that my cat isn't in the apartment any longer. I unlock the door and head outside, calling her name. As I exit, I see a Burmese cat that lives in the complex scurrying away. I know he's big on fighting, because he starts fights with other cats all the time. Just the other day, he was in a fight with a black kitty from upstairs, and there was litterally fur flying in the air! But I digress.
I found Phibbrizzo under some bushes not far away... that's where she usually goes when she gets outside, and I picked her up and took her inside. Once in, I found a cat-sized tear in the screen of the other window and point it out to my sister, who is also awake by now (for obvious reasons). And we also discovered that the frame for the knock-out screen has been totally mangled. We shut the windows and go back to bed, prepping to tell the managers on Monday.
This morning, my sister pointed out that the loose parts of the torn screen are turned in, folded between the screen and the window, leading us only to believe that the Burmese cat had torn it open to get at Brizzo, who had chased him out again, causing him to knock the screen out of the other window.
So, the Burmese cat litterally broke into our house, just to fight with my cat! Strange, I say...
