watch out i'm updating! hahaha.
I've moved into a new place by myself. its plenty big enough for me. I'm thinking about getting a cat, Kellan is coming to visit today. we're gonna go look at the cats at the town lake animal shelter. I wont get one today, seeing as i'm going to be taking care of my mom after her surgery and then heading to new york for a week. But having a cat will give me somethign to look forward to coming home to. Anyway I'm thinking I'll get one mid July.
I took andrew to work this morning because his car broke down last night. I think it's time he gets a new car. I told him I'd go with him to look at cars if he wanted to. we'll see.
I'm precepting the new nurses now at work. They keep telling me they'll be wanting to train me to charge soon. THAT i definately do not feel ready for. And neither my manager or educator have mentioned anything to me so hopefully that is just rumor. Of course they are planning on opening up another IMC unit now that childrens is moving. And we do need more beds. ICU frequently gets stuck with IMC patients for days because we dont have any beds. (first we admit ER patients, then we take ICU transfers). When i worked Sunday they gave me 4 patients because i had a premier staff orientee (already a nurse, going to be floating throughout the seton system when a nurse is needed) except then i didn't have a premier staff orientee so the charge nurse took one of my patients (who needed nothing, didn't even have any meds to give and i'd already done the morning assessment on her). Anyway 3 of those 4 patients had transfer orders by about 11 in the morning. But what pissed me off later was i went and looked at the assignment book and saw that they'd given another nurse only 2 patients that morning. why did i get 4 and her 2? that makes no sense. but now i'm rambling and i'm gonna stop.
