Training update

My training continues to go well.  Right now I'm doing 3 runs/week of 2 miles, and 1 long run of 3 miles.  I also do strength and cross-training once or twice a week.

I have hit a couple of personal-best times already in my 2-mile runs, which is a fantastic feeling.  Not only that, but I've consistently stayed close to that pace for each run, so it would seem that it isn't a fluke.  I first started on a treadmill because it was easy to keep track of all my stats, but have come to prefer the track in the gym because my natural pace is a bit faster than what I put myself at on the treadmill, other runners on the track challenge me to push harder, and it just keeps things a little more interesting when I'm actually moving and the scenery changes a bit.  I look forward to the weather getting a little bit better so I can happily run outside.

Although my stats have been looking good and I generally feel really good, I think my body is still getting used to running so frequently.  I'm still trying to get control of my heartrate, and get a feel of how to read signals that my body sends out, like the difference between aches/pains and something more like a potential injury.  So far I think anything I've been feeling is just regular aches, but I've been very careful to monitor them to determine if I should just work through them or if I should take things easy and heal a bit.
