What the shit is this?

Based upon what I know (including the below letter that was emailed to us earlier this week), I am pissed about my graduation. For those who don't know, the HC does its own "Medallion Ceremony" because, technically, graduation is with the entire university in Boca Raton. Last year there were a few hitches but it came together relatively well.

This year, however, the Interim Dean is being an uncompromising, uncaring, unconcerned egotist who seems to think our graduation is about her schedule and desires. I guess it's a "fuck-the-students" kind of attitude because she does not seem to give a damn what we, as the graduating class, want for OUR Medallion Ceremony. Like, not at 9 o'clock in the fucking morning for one.

Needless to say, this is a little on the irritating side and, while I liked the Interim Dean prior to this, I am starting to become a little less respectful.

Any suggestions on what I ought to submit for my info for the graduation program? I want it to not be completely lame-ass.

Dear Graduating Seniors:

Spring 2005 Commencement is quickly approaching. The Wilkes Honors College faculty, staff, and administration are planning to celebrate your academic success at the annual Medallion Ceremony.

The 2005 Honors College Medallion Ceremony will be held on Friday, May 6, 2005 at the Jupiter Community Center Banquet Auditorium at 9:00am. You will be expected to arrive by 8:00am to rehearse and line-up for the ceremonial procession.

The official FAU graduation ceremony will be held in Boca on Friday, May 6, 2005 at 1:00pm for Honors College students. Graduates are expected to arrive at the facility by noon.

Currently, Lisa-Paula is working on the Honors College Medallion Ceremony program. Please submit the following information by email to Lisa-Paula by April 15, 2005:

Thesis Title and Thesis Advisor
Concentration
Brief Synopsis of Thesis (no longer than three sentences)
Favorite Honors College memory that you would like to share (please keep it clean for families and community members who want to share in your celebration)
Plans for after Graduation
A headshot of yourself (If you do not have a headshot Lisa-Paula can take a digital picture in the Dean’s office. Photos will be collected until April 15th.)

The Honors College (with the help of alum Mandi) will be organizing the annual senior slide show. Please submit appropriate pictures of your memories to either Mandi (HC 128), Deb (HA121), or Lisa-Paula (HC 128) by April 15, 2005.

The faculty, staff, and administration look forward to celebrating this wonderful achievement on May 6th with you and your families.
