Becky finished the last Tigerbuttah Munny at 3am on Thursday. She grabbed about three hours sleep while I had difficulty sleeping, to the point where I just got up and pulled a terrible all-nighter. We went off to the airport around 6am to get there by 7am. The airline was Jetstar and we had somehow put 23 paintings (framed) in our carry-on luggage. When we got on the plane, the band Jet played and that made us all sad.
Once we got to Wellington, we had a merry drive around the bays and saw some cool art deco houses. Upon arriving at the hotel, we were told it was at capacity and had to come back in about 5 hours. We grabbed an overpriced breakfast (with some overpriced internet: 5 bucks for 15mb/10 minutes) and then headed down to Popup, where Becky is exhibiting (Friday 6pm! Come party!)
We met Tony, the fella who runs Popup, who is great. We grabbed a coffee and dropped off the frames to be fitted to be hung and then we tried the hotel again. We finally got some sleep for about 3 hours and then went off to do an interview at student radio, VBC. We hung out there for awhile, watching a band that spun off out of another band I dig, Over The Atlantic. Everyone was really nice, interview went well and we were super amped.
Afterwards we grabbed some dinner at Flying Burrito Brothers, which was pretty great. Becky had a slice of chocolate cake the size of her head. We then went and hung out with our friends Geoff, Sam and Eddie, as Geoff is going off around Europe before he moves to Melbourne. Had a lovely Emerson's 1812 beer and now we're back at the hotel before midnight. We walked down the water-front back to the hotel, it's only about a mile, but it struck me just how quiet it is as soon as you get out of Cuba St.
Gallery setup in the morning. Will try update this (even though this entry was pretty crude and written like a child would).
