I'd forgotten how good you are at making the little things that happen in a scene reflect the much bigger things that are happening in the characters' heads. And how your prose comes over as very simplistic, but contains such a lot.

I really do blame laziness on my simplistic prose that says anything. And coma avoidance, sometimes *G*

Thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I'm gonna give you a box of commas for Christmas :p

(You want eyes back on that other fic? I wouldn't like to peek at someone's writing without being invited, but I'm also not ignoring it)

But what would I do with them!?

I haven't. Touched it. I got side tracked by writing porn. I'll get back to it in the morning and you're always invited to peek at it.

Porn can be easier sometimes. At the very least, it's usually clear where it's going to end. V. easy to get sidetracked by it!

I swear I like porn if only for knowing where it's going to end. Getting an end on a fic that's not 'falls asleep' is somewhat harder.

Yeah, I've just denied myself that one - I'm writing morning porn. 'And then they got up', maybe. I always have issues with endings. And titles. Titles can fuck off.

It's really sad. I'll occasionally think of a title for a fic I don't know how to write. Title for a fic I have written? Pulling teeth.

I'm really hating on headers in general tonight. Summaries especially, actually.

Yeah, summaries are annoying too. Those and titles require you to distil everything you've just devoted several hours of your life to writing into a handful of phrases. And make people want to read it. Nothing's ever going to be good enough.

My 'cranky' is coming largely from how freaking extraneous the things feel to me right now. FFS, with everything else in the header, do you REALLY need me to try to do a thoughtful summary? Apparently, but gargh.

I get that. You've already said it's X/Y, the rating, the genre, the warnings, do they really need more info? And yet when I'm looking for fic and there's no summary, I get pissy about it. It's a writer's prerogative to be grumpy over anything, I reckon. We deserve that right!

Yep, when I'm looking for fic I have to have a summary, too. And when I read fic lately, I hate everything. ...I have GOT to have PMS or something.

Really? I have read nothing in this fandom that isn't by you, so I can't comment. I will (read more, that is), once I've seen more canon, but I'll just stick to your corner for now.

I have found some really awesome writers, and a lot of my issue may be that I keep reading CMs version of "Janto" (and actually LIKE the pairing) and therefore get OTPers with a side of homophobic and misogynistic slash tropes. ...But again: There is a lot of stuff I've read that has blown me AWAY.

Ohgod... what's the "Janto" pairing? I'd assume this show would have a more mature audience than Torchwood, but batshit OTPers do seem to get into every fandom.
Watching the series, I could ship almost anything here. They all seem to have chemistry.

Hotch/Reid, apparently. Though yeah, they are more mature and the good stuff is... not as hard to find, even there. It's just... there's also a kid and apparently if there's a kid and a dad someone needs to be mom and of course the most likely candidate for that is Reid.

...Yes, I am being snarky but. Peeve.
