His feet planted firmly on a rooftop, head tilted toward the sky and his eyes closed against the brilliance of an older sun, he didn’t know how he’d stayed gone so long.
The wind billowed his coat out and then changed direction and whipped it around his legs with a sound like a pair of giant wings flapping. He thought of Myfanwy and laughed.
Time didn’t heal all wounds, absence did make the heart grow fonder. It had been a time for parting and now it was time to rebuild.
It was just time.
