I know! Jack and Rose during the Ninth Doctor era were so...undamaged (well, partly) and so lovable and just so happy to be there with that guy in that blue box.

I'm dreading when, and if, they meet up again. Older and jaded and lonely...I'm depressing myself.

I do love your writing, though. Such a small amount of words and such a perfect vignette. I *adore* that.

I am absolutely having the same thing. They were so bright and happy and untarnished and unfettered and *Free*. That's. Not going to be the same, and you can't go back, but GAH.

*nods* I know. I knoooow. Doctor and Jack already broke me in s3. I don't think I can take it again.

I'm also a bit bitter about Jack/Ianto, because if Jack turned the Doctor down for him, I really can't see why. :(

I'm not exactly bitter about Ianto, but my ship's still... Not Jack/Ianto. *G* The Doctor, fortunately, has a lot of incarnations and Jack's got a lot of time. My ship will not be sunk, dammit.

Oh, and excuse the double comment, but my pet theory is that Jack turning the Doctor down didn't have a thing to do with Jack OR the Doctor. It just had to do with wanting back into humanity and time, and off ships, and protecting and living for a while. This makes sense to me and I'm Keeping It, Double Dammit. ;-)

Huh...nononono. It makes perfect sense! It does! *nods*

My pet theory is that they needed distance, too. Traveling again in such close quarters, after the Valiant and repairing the paradox machine and stuff...too much. They would have been at each other's throat. Or, you know, in each other's bed, having angry!sex. Which is hot, mind you, but doesn't solve a thing.

Oh, hell yeah. They really would have. Distance for a bit is GOOD.
