yesterday kate and i went shopping. it was nice, we bonded in a good sisterly way and we each brought some stuff home.
she made a build-a-bear named "hassenpheffer". it was the only name that really jumped out at us.. for obvious reasons, i suppose. it took her about half an hour to decide what clothes to put on it. but it was worth it. also, she got this makeup box thing, with a ton of makeup in it. haha she's so good at makeup and i'm like, what's that red stuff that looks like chap stick?
i got 4 cds, 4 books, and 2 shirts from le gap. they make me look wicked hottttttt.

also, i got a BEAMO. which is a hula-hoop-sized soft frisbee covered in spandex with a hole in the middle. it was really fun to carry around in the mall, in a huge black bag, after i bought it. hahaha. i was like "this is not a body bag. it is my beamo. there are no guns in here." or something.
yes and finally i exposed kate to gloria jeans. a necessary rite of passage into teenagedom. mmm.
all in all, a fun time. also, she made fun of me a lot and it was all because of dumb stuff i did. oops.
oh, also. we got a cat. ellie's been wanting one for years, which is funny because she's only 9. they finally found one they wanted, and they brought it home and everything. i'll put pictures in here when i can finally figure it out.
according to ellie, she's a "american blue tortoiseshell". i'll trust her. she was owned by a family before us, but the dad became allergic to cats so either he or the cat had to leave. fortunately for us, they kept the dad and we kept the cat. she's 17 months old, which is older than we originally wanted, but even though she's not a kitten any more, she's still young.
her name from her other house is "blue" and ellie thought it would be best to keep it. however, kate did come up with the middle name "moon" so now she has a little noyes in her, too. plus, my mom thought it was hilarious: "when will we get a cat, mom?" "once in a blue moon." not that any of us ever actually said that, but imagine how perfect it would have been if we had!
she's a character.
also, our dog is practically going into cardiac arrest because of blue. as i'm typing this, she's pacing around the house and whimpering. hahaha.
also, we're redoing the upstairs bathroom. i think i might do stephen crane for my research paper for english. i'm not sure yet. i should take a shower.
also, i have been very bored this vacation while i've been at home. however, i started sketching some more. i forgot how fun it is to me, and what a release it can be. nothing has turned out exceptionally well, although i did a sketch of ellie from a picture i took, and it looks like a person, although not necessarily her.
